Woman Empowerment
Discrimination towards women is a particular problem in Nepal since women are very often victims of physical and psychological abuses (conjugal violence, rape, discrimination, insults, forced marriages, and lower female literacy…). Another major problem in Nepal is the trafficking of human beings: girls and women are trafficked within Nepal and abroad.
They are forced to work for the sex industry but also as domestic servants, factory workers, etc. Each year about 5,000 to 10,000 women and girls are trafficked to India alone.
In order to fulfil the goal of gender equality, our Women empowerment programs aim at ensuring Nepalese women and girls awareness of their fundamental rights as a woman and grand them equal opportunities with men and boys in education, employment, leadership and decision-making at all levels. You will therefore be able to help us organize awareness campaigns that you will be presenting to women living in marginalized communities.
